How to Set Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Enhancing your account's security with Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a vital step to protect your personal information.

Go To Profile Settings

  • Navigate to your account settings by clicking on the your Profile in the top right corner and selecting 'Profile'.

Initiate 2FA Setup:

  • In the 2FA section, click on the "Setup" button.

Verify Your Identity:

  • You will be prompted to enter your MDC password. After entering your password, click on 'Generate QR Code.'

Use an Authenticator App:

  • Open your authenticator app on your smartphone and scan the displayed QR code.

  • Once scanned, the app will generate a temporary code.

Activate 2FA:

  • Enter the temporary code generated by the authenticator app into the provided field and click on 'Activate 2FA.'

Generate Backup Codes:

  • It’s recommended to generate backup codes in case you lose access to your phone. Click on 'Generate Codes.'

Secure Your Backup Codes:

  • Enter your password and the 2FA token, then click 'Continue.'

  • Four backup codes will be generated. Ensure you store these codes securely as they can be used to access your account if your phone is unavailable.

By following these steps, you can successfully set up Two-Factor Authentication on your account, adding an extra layer of security to protect your personal data. Always keep your backup codes safe and never share them with anyone.
